The company has own manufacturing complex which is comprised of a lot of various special electronic elements: indoor and outdoor LCD and LED boards (screens), thin light boxes for static information (FrameLight technology) for airport, railway stations, traffic guidance and other public information systems. Background and Strategies
JSC Informsviaz Holding was created in 1989 by a group of specialists in the field of telecommunications, who worked in the Research Institute of Automation Equipment (Ministry of Radioindustry) and were engaged in theoretical and practical aspects of wide area networks for defence needs.
As a strategic objective, Informsviaz Holding has the aim of becoming a leading company in Russia in the field of design and development of wide area communication systems with integrated services and take the place of large state-owned research institutes functioning in that area today.
Today, about 1000 employees work for the Company full time. There are branch office in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Rostov-na-Donu, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk. Two more offices are located abroad: Almaty (Kazakhstan), Kiev (Ukraine).

First in
Informsviaz is the first company in Russia which introduced to the Russian market:
- VSAT type communication systems based on Russian-made earth stations development of SDH-based networks;
- development of Frame Relay voice & data networks based on voice grade (telephone) links;
- introduction to Russian customer of high-end ATM equipment for WANs;
- some of the first large projects of Intelligent Building (IB) for Russian enterprises.
Hardware
In 1989-1991 Informsviaz Holding produced networking hardware of its own design: X.25 switches and PADs, computer X.25 and Telex cards, hardware and software for satellite communication systems.
Because of the country’s economic and industrial state, the development of domestic hardware was suspended. Foreign equipment is used as import substitution since there are no domestic analogues meeting the up-to-date requirements for sophisticated systems. At the same time, Informsviaz Holding is taking vigorous measures to develop competitive Russian-made telecommunications equipment.

Informsviaz Holding is a training center, providing services support for NX Networks equipment in Russia and Eastern Europe, and for RAD Data Communications in Russia and others. The company develops and applies technical approaches included into know-how, designs wide area communication systems of dual application based on hardware updated to suit the domestic communication infrastructure and special requirements.
For example, the basic networking hardware manufactured by the company RAD and supplied to Russia has been designed in co-operation with the Informsviaz Holding and is produced with a dual logo (RAD and Informsviaz). This hardware was supplied to the RF Presidential Administration structures, Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Russian Ministry of Defence and other government organizations.
Since 1989 Informsviaz Holding has developed and created more than 280 networks of various applications for state-owned and private entities.

Scientific Activities
In 1997 the Informsviaz Holding opened its own sub-faculty "Wide Area Networks" at the Moscow State Institute of Radioengineering, Electronics and Automation (Technical University). This sub-faculty is headed by president of Informsviaz Holding, Ph.D, professor, doctor M. Kuperman.
Since 1994, Informsviaz Holding published its own printed edition “Corporate WANs” which is a collection of articles by the Company’s specialists published in various specialized magazines.

Informsviaz Holding has been developing “Intelligent building” systems since 1998. During these years, the company created and tested its own architecture and industrial technology of development and implementation of all-round object automation systems in a vast amount of real-life projects.
This IB solution is suggested for business, and this is the basic principle of IB conception developed by Informsviaz Holding. It’s aimed at the creation of reliable basis and optimal conditions for enterprise operation. Besides the organization of all-round object survival, the industrial processes can be integrated into IB.
Today Informsviaz Holding has implemented more than 80 complex engineering projects for different customers in 60 regions of Russia.
